Resurfacing and tree works lead to closures

RESURFACING and tree works are the causes of various road closures and speed restrictions around Banburyshire over the coming weeks.

From tomorrow (Friday), the A422 Stratford Road will have a temporary speed restriction for up to five nights to allow for carriageway resurfacing and road marking works.

Between 8pm and 6am, traffic will be prohibited from travelling at speeds in excess of 40mph approximately 400 metres west and 190 metres east of the Sor Brook. From December 5, the B4035 Broughton Road will be closed for three days between Balmoral Avenue in Banbury and Danvers Road in Broughton to enable road resurfacing works to take place at the North Newington junction.

And from December 10 High Street in Shutford will be closed between 9am and 4am at the West Street junction and Church Lane junction while workers cut back trees affecting overhead power cables.

Diversions will be advertised.
