Older people in Banbury have found rather unconventional ways of keeping themselves busy during this winter’s bad weather.

Residents at the privately owned retirement block Guardian Court in Duke Street have put money raised from coffee mornings towards a large screen and projector where they can watch films, play Nintendo Wii games and keep themselves entertained.

House manager Barbara Gilks is very impressed with the residents who are between 64 and 98 years old. She said: “It’s all happening here.” Pictured are Peggy Danks and Win Meadows having a go on the Wii.
