Producer celebrates 40th panto

BODICOTE Players are performing Jack and the Beanstalk for their 26th pantomime.

This year’s production follows on from the 25th sellout show Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

Players veteran Stephen Coles who co-produces the show with Karen Booth and also plays Dozy Den the village idiot, has plenty to celebrate this season.

“This year is a double celebration for me as it’s my 40th panto plus 30 years with Bodicote Players,” he said.

He is confident that this year’s production certainly will not disappoint the audience.

He said: “The show has all the traditional panto ingredients – usual characters including a hard-up king whose entire Government is one person who wears a different hat when required.”

The Government is played by Lee Dwyer and Dame Trott is played by Roger Riley -– who plays dame for the first time with the Players.

Jack and the Beanstalk will be performed in Bodicote Village Hall from Tuesday, December 4 until Saturday, December 8 at 7.30pm each evening.

Tickets are £5 and can be bought from Bodicote Stores and Wacky Wardrobes, in Swan Close, Banbury. Alternatively call 07854 368190.

Bodicote Players put on a pantomime every Christmas and also perform a play in the spring. They meet every Thursday and new members are always welcome.
