Police rescue man from canal

A MAN is critically ill in hospital after police officers pulled him from the Oxford Canal in Banbury.

Shortly before 10am today (Tuesday) emergency services were called to the canal near Spiceball Park underneath the bridge for Hennef Way.

The man, who is aged between 50 and 70 was taken to the Horton General Hospital in Banbury where he remains in a critical condition.
