Plans for Warriner sixth form given green light

WORK to build a new sixth form building at Bloxham’s Warriner School has been given the go-ahead.

Headteacher Dr Annabel Kay has been pushing for plans since she took over at the school more than a year ago, and the application was approved by Oxfordshire County Council on Tuesday.

Dr Kay is pleased to finally be able to offer students a variety of different A-level subjects at the school, and said: “To finally get the green light is something I’m over the moon about.

“I am really pleased that we will be able to offer so much choice for the students in our first year. They are really excited and will be well supported by teachers to ensure they can be as successful as possible.”

Construction work is expected to start in about three weeks, with it due to open in Easter.
