Pedestrian suffers minor injuries in collision with taxi

A 22-year-old woman suffered grazes to her legs and arms after she was hit by a taxi while crossing a road in Banbury town centre.

She was walking from the cinema towards the taxi rank on Horse Fair at about 1.50am on Sunday, February 24 when she was hit by a white Vauxhall Vectra travelling towards the Banbury Cross from the Warwick Road. She sustained minor injuries and was taken to Banbury’s Horton General Hospital for treatment but later discharged.

PC Dan Carter of Bicester Roads Policing and Joint Operations Unit, said: “I urge any witnesses of the collision to come forward. The incident occured next to the taxi rank and I am confident there were people who saw what happened who saw what happened. While the pedestrian suffered minor injuries, this could have been a much more serious incident.”

Anyone with information should call PC Carter on the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
