AN OPEN day at the newly constructed Cropredy Marina will take place on Sunday, January 20 between 11am-3pm.

The marina is situated on the Oxford Canal to the north of the village.

Cropredy Marina is owned and operated by Tim Langer, who began business on the inland waterways in 1992.

The original 110-berth basin opened in April 1996. Three years later an extension of 76 berths was built at the southern end of the basin and a further 87-berth extension followed in December 2007, bringing total capacity to over 270 boats.

Planning consent for a second marina was granted by Cherwell District Council on January 5, 2012.

Construction began on September 10, 2012 and the first phase is scheduled to open on April 1, 2013.

Boots or strong shoes are essential for viewing the site.
