Mum-to-be gets baby bump painted in aid of good cause
Sarah Blake who is six months pregnant shows off her painted tummy to her partner Lee Willis who is sensei of the Oxford Sports and Tradtitional Martial Arts
A mother-to-be from Middleton Cheney had her baby bump painted with the logo of her partner’s martial arts club to raise money for charity.
Late last month, 27-year-old Sarah Blake had her baby bump of 28 weeks painted with the logo of Ostma (Oxford Sports and Traditional Martial Arts) by Oxford-based professional artist Mona Turnbull.
Miss Blake and her partner, 25-year-old martial arts instructor Lee Willis, came up with the plan when thinking of Comic Relief fundraising ideas.
“Mona is just fantastic and we thought a great way to get more sponsors would be to have the club involved by having the logo painted on our bump, which is due on May 25,” said Miss Blake.
“All the children and parents in the club have sponsored me. We’ve tried to raise as much as we can for Comic Relief and we’ve managed to reach £120!”
Ostma has members from all over Oxfordshire and offers classes in Brackley and Chipping Norton.
“It is one of the biggest clubs with more than 1,200 students across three counties, and one of the most successful clubs which takes part in world wide competitions,” said Miss Blake.
