DOCTORS and investors are preparing to submit plans for a replacement to Brackley’s Cottage Hospital.

Although the current Cottage Hospital is much loved by town residents, parts of the Grade II-listed building are Victorian, making it difficult to modernise, while Pebble Lane, in Brackley’s old town, is narrow and has limited parking.

Under the proposals two of Brackley’s GP surgeries will also move into the new campus on the Network 401 development off Northampton Road, alongside a dentist, care home and consulting rooms. Springfield Surgery will not be moving.

Brackley estate agent George Britchfield is current chairman of the Cottage Hospital Trust, and said: “It is very exciting, the whole scheme of things, in terms of internal layout and accommodation requirements for the surgeries, has been done.”
