Help spread the warmth for Banbury’s older people

Age UK Banbury is encouraging everyone in the area to join in and help warm up Britain for Age UK’s Bobble Day tomorrow (Friday).

People across the country will be getting involved in this annual fundraising extravaganza, raising money to help make winter warmer for older people who are suffering needlessly at this time of year.

And in Banbury Age UK will be hosting celebrations at its Parsons Street shop.

Fluffy bobbles will also be on sale at its centre in White Lion Walk.

The event will raise funds for older people in extra need in winter by hosting bobble games and a free orange drink giveaway.

Residents can take part by wearing something orange to support the Warm up Britain campaign and by buying bobbles for £1, bringing in donations and playing the orange tombola.

Annie Macdonald, shop manager at Age UK Banbury, said: “Taking part in Bobble Day is simple and fun.

“Whether people join us at Banbury Age UK or organise their own winter warming activity, everyone will be helping to raise vital funds for people in later life.

“We want to encourage as many people as possible in Banburyshire to get involved and help us to warm up Britain this winter.”
