Funds for life-saving charity

SOLICITORS in Banbury have raised significant funds for the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.

The £8,800 which Brethertons LLP handed over to the charity is the result of a year of fundraising.

Each year, Brethertons chooses a charity to support and the air ambulance is one particularly close to its heart as it saved the life of the firm’s IT manager Tony Woodhouse who was involved in a serious motorbike accident.

Mr Woodhouse said: “I was delighted when Brethertons chose the air ambulance as its charity of the year. The service receives no government funding and relies entirely on donations. The money Brethertons has raised will help WNAA to save more lives like mine.”

Sarah Wakeman, fundraising manager for the charity’s Warwickshire region was delighted with the support. She said: “Each mission costs around £1,400 to run, so this money will really make a huge difference to our ability to carry out our vital work.”
