A FOOTBALLER who plays for Banbury team Easington Sports has been charged with murdering his wife.

Andrew Parsons, 38, of Lucerne Avenue, Bicester, was last night charged by Thames Valley Police with murdering his wife Janee Parsons at the family home on Saturday.

The father-of-two will appear at Oxford Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday).

Police found Mrs Parsons, 31, at her Bicester home on Saturday after she had sustained serious injuries.

Despite attempts by police and ambulance staff to resuscitate her, Mrs Parsons was declared dead at hospital.

A post mortem concluded that she died from multiple incised wounds caused by a sharp instrument.

Det Ch Insp Joe Kidman, leading the investigation, said: “We are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident but are keen to speak with anyone in Lucerne Avenue who may have important information to help us establish the circumstances of this tragic incident.”
