Firefighters tackle blaze in crumb machine

BANBURY fire crews were called to Witwood Foods on Lombard Way Banbury after a fire broke out in a crumb drying machine on Saturday.

Two pumps from Banbury and one from Deddington attended the incident at 3.47am and used hose reels, breathing apparatus and Co2 extinguishers to contain the blaze and the fire was contained within the machine.

Crews then used thermal imaging cameras to check the machine for damage.

Warwickshire firefighters were called to a fire beneath a pavement, near the Dassett primary school in Memorial Road, Fenny Compton on Friday.

One appliance from Fenny Compton attended the scene at 7pm and the crew dealt with a small fire located in an electrical box in an inspection pit in the pavement.

Thermal imaging cameras were used to locate the fire.
