Firefighters attend Banbury collision
A WOMAN and her two children had to be rescued on Christmas Eve after the car they were travelling in ended up on its roof in a ditch.
The incident happened at about 7.20pm on the B4100 Warwick Road after the Hanwell junction, where crews from Banbury and Deddington attended. The woman and children were trapped in the vehicle, and firefighters were able to access the car through the rear door and free both of the children. A firefighter was then able to enter the vehicle and provide first aid to the woman.
John Callaway, incident commander, said: “Without doubt, the fact that all occupants of the vehicle were wearing seat belts prevented any serious injuries. They were all taken to hospital by ambulance for a thorough check-up.”
