Decision to divert historic footpath upheld

A DECISION to divert a centuries’ old footpath to respect the privacy of its neighbours has been upheld in the High Court.

Michael and Susan Weston claimed that the footpath ran extremely close to their front door at Bodicote Mill, and that their privacy was invaded by walkers using it.

They won an order by Oxfordshire County Council to divert the path, which was unsuccessfully challenged by the Ramblers Association who claimed it would impact upon the public’s enjoyment.
