Couple’s first TV date at village farm
TELEVISION viewers will be able to see if romance blossoms in Farthinghoe on Tuesday when episode two of the Channel 4 series The Undateables hits our screens.
Filming for the popular series, which follows people with disabilities as they hit the dating circuit in search of true love, took place at the coffee shop at Limes Farm on Main Road, Farthinghoe and features the first meeting between 34-year-old sports enthusiast Samantha and her date James from New Zealand.
Sam, from Brighton, has achondroplasia – the most common form of dwarfism – and is hoping to find her Mr Right in the series.
The couple enjoyed coffee and a chat at the farm shop before going skydiving at Hinton-in-the-Hedges Airfield near Brackley.
Nicky Dorward, who owns the farm with her husband and father, said it was a proud moment for the family business. She said: “We had to open up early for them on the day. She was already here and he came to meet her. They had a cup of coffee and were just chatting and getting to know each other. She likes adrenalin sports so they went on to do sky-diving, but I think they were going to go out for something to eat later in the day if it went well.”
Limes farm has just announced it is to open its doors to visitors seven-days-a-week so families and children can visit the wide variety of animals, learn about farming, and sample produce at the farm shop.
Episode two of The Undateables shows on Channel 4 on Tuesday at 9pm. For information about Limes Farm go to www.limesfarm.com.
