Banbury MP to meet residents and staff at recently-opened care scheme

BANBURY MP Sir Tony Baldry will meet with residents and staff at a new extra care scheme for older people in Banbury.

Tomorrow (Friday) Sir Tony will get the opportunity to look around the facilities at Stanbridge House in Ruskin Road as well as chat to some of the people who have moved into the recently completed £9.7 million development. Stanbridge House is a scheme of 70 apartments for people aged 55 and over with community facilities including a shop, restaurant and hair and beauty salon.

Sara Naylor-Wild, locality manager for Housing 21, which manages the scheme, said: “We’re delighted that Sir Tony Baldry is planning to visit Stanbridge House and meet with staff and customers.

“The scheme is an excellent example of extra care housing and we are sure he will be impressed with the facilities and benefits provided.”

Housing 21 manages 18,700 sheltered and extra care apartments and aims to promote independence and choice for older people.
