All Wright on the night for Shirley

THE Only Way Is Essex star Mark Wright has praised the efforts of a Slimming World consultant from Banbury at the organisation’s annual awards ceremony.
Last month Shirley Warren, who runs weekly Slimming World groups in the town, was invited to pose for a photo with the reality TV star at the event in Birmingham.
Mr Wright was invited to host the ceremony celebrating the club’s most successful slimmers and said: “Presenting the Slimming World Awards was a real honour. I was absolutely blown away by the people who joined us on stage.
“I couldn’t believe how much weight they’d lost and what a difference it had made to their lives – they were like completely different people.
“In fact, throughout the day I met so many fantastic people, not only the slimmers collecting awards but also amazing people like Shirley who runs the Slimming World groups and helps them achieve so much. Staying in shape is something that I have to work hard at myself and I know it’s not always easy.
“Everyone commented that having the support of someone like Shirley and the group is really important too. I really feel the people of Banbury are very lucky to have such a great support network on their doorstep.”
Ms Warren runs Slimming World groups at St Hugh’s Church Hall every Wednesday and Bishop Loveday School every Thursday.
She said meeting Mr Wright was the perfect end to a great year for the Banbury groups and she was looking ahead to the new year.
“With one of the highest levels of obesity in Europe right here in the UK, we want to help even more people to slim down and improve their health starting this January,” she said.
“At this time of year lots of people will be making New Year’s resolutions and pledging to lose weight, and we’d love anyone who wants to make a change to come along and join us.
“Even if they’ve struggled to stick to resolutions in the past, there’s no need to be put off.”
