Cropredy harmonica player Will Pound was nominated for the BBC Radio 2 Folk Musician Of The Year 2014 Award

Harmonica player Will Pound, of Cropredy, was shortlisted for a national BBC Radio 2 Folk award last week.

Twenty-six-year-old Will (pictured by the Oxford Canal in Cropredy) was one of four people nominated for the Musician Of The Year Award which was won by Aidan O’Rourke. Will said: “Being nominated was absolutely great but a bit of a shock to be honest!”

He currently works with English folk duo Haddo, The Will Pound Band and as an occasional guest with the Martin Simpson Band/Trio. His first solo album A Cut Above was released in 2013. For more information on Will and his music, visit http://willpound.com
