Conservatives have retained control of West Oxfordshire District Council.
Of the 17 seats up for election in West Oxfordshire, the Conservatives took 15, the Liberal Democrats one and Labour one. The Labour victory came in Chipping Norton as Laetisia Carter was elected with 927 votes pushing Conservative Guy Wall (Con) down to second with 836 votes. UKIP’s James Charles Stanley received 287 votes, putting him in third place.
The political balance of the council following the elections is 40 Conservative; one Independent; five Labour; and three Liberal Democrats. The overall turnout was 39.03 per cent.
