Chipping Norton Rotary Club will present a day of jazz and music around the town for the 16th year running on Sunday.
The festival will feature a wide variety of jazz bands and musicians playing a diverse range of jazz at venues including the town hall, The Blue Boar and The Chequers.
Much of the music is free but there will be four ticketed events, including a jazz improvisation workshop led by Saxophonist Sue Greenway at the town hall from 10am-noon and a school jazz bands concert featuring bands from Chipping Norton, Cokethorpe, Reading and Bloxham.
Other ticketed events are a performance by Tom ‘Spats’ Langham with his Hot Fingers Trio at The Chequers and an evening concert featuring Swing from Paris, who bring the sounds of a chic Parisian cafe and French jazz to The Theatre in Spring Street.
All profits from the festival will go to the Rotary’s chosen charities, the Lawrence Home Nursing team, Special Effect – which helps the physically and mentally handicapped communicate using computers – and the End Polio Now campaign .
The full festival line-up will be published in the festival programme, available for £2 on the day or on Saturday around Chipping Norton.
