Oxfordshire County Council Fire & Rescue Service was called to a road traffic collision, involving two cars, on the A361 outside South Newington at 10.12pm on Thursday, May 1.

Two fire engines from Banbury and one from Hook Norton attended and worked with ambulance crews and Thames Valley Police.

Watch Manager David Edge from Banbury Fire Station said: “When we arrived at the incident, one lady involved in the collision had made her way out of the vehicle but required medical assistance which we gave at the scene prior to ambulance crews arriving. A second lady was still in her car suffering back and neck pain. Due to the nature of her injuries specialist rescue tools were used to remove the vehicle roof and safely remove her.”
