A free event aimed to get people to try different sports and activities takes place at Banbury’s Spiceball Leisure Centre tomorrow (Saturday).
Cherwell District Council’s Connecting Communities event will see a range of different organisations based in the town offering health and wellbeing support from 9am until 1pm.
Councillor John Donaldson, lead member for brighter futures in Banbury said: “Exercise and a healthy lifestyle complement each other perfectly so it makes sense to bring these different organisations together so people can get all of the information they need in one place.
“More than three dozen different clubs and services will be represented, including sports groups and health professionals letting people know exactly what is on offer throughout Cherwell and giving them the chance to try new and interesting hobbies.”
Activities on the day include squash, scuba diving, swimming sessions, table tennis and zumba, and the day has been organised in partnership with Parkwood Community Leisure, Banbury Town Council and Cherwell Local Strategic Partnership.
