JEWELLERY and a camera were stolen from a flat in Banbury after thieves forced their way in through a front door.

Sometime between 10am and 6pm on Friday, burglars broke into a flat in Broughton Road.

The offenders forced entry through a communal door and once inside forced the flat door open, breaking the latch. They then conducted an untidy search of the property before fleeing with items including a silver digital Canon Ixus camera, a gold Armani watch, a Breitling black watch with leather strap and three gold bands.

PC Richard Lewis from Banbury Police station said: “This flat is located on a busy road which leads to the town centre. It is used by a lot of foot and vehicle traffic. The front door is well in view of the road and path so there is a good chance that someone may have seen the offenders or people acting suspiciously in the area.”

Anyone with any information should contact Thames Valley Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
