Bright lights, loud music and excitable screams can all be found in Banbury today (Wednesday) as the annual Michaelmas Fair has arrived.
Attractions including the dodgems, waltzers and stalls are in town providing entertainment for thrillseekers of all ages.
Fair worker Richard Jennings, who has been coming to Banbury for about six years, said: “Banbury is one of the good ones. Because it’s a street fair it’s easier to get people involved and if it rains it doesn’t matter so much. It’s a chance for all the different fair workers to meet up.”
The fair was opened this afternoon by town mayor Nicholas Turner and owner William Wilson.
They took a tour of the fair, offering children one free ride on any atraction touched by the giant golden key.
