A girl was pushed to the ground by an unknown man in a park in Banbury on Saturday.
The 14-year-old girl was walking home through Browning Road Park at 3.40pm on Saturday afternoon when the assault happened.
As the girl was walking towards the exit of the park near to Bloxham Road, an unknown man approached her from behind and in the scuffle they both fell to the ground.
The girl screamed out and the man got up and ran away into a nearby wooded area.
The man is described as white, in his early twenties, around 5ft 10ins, of skinny build, pale complexion, blond hair that was short at the sides and clean shaven.
He was wearing a plain blue hooded top, dark-blue baggy jeans and a green, checked flat cap.
PC Greg Coupe, investigating the incident, said: “This was a completely unprovoked assault that has left the victim very shaken.
“The local neighbourhood team is aware and they will be carrying out extra patrols in the area and if any local residents have any concerns then I would urge them to approach your local officers.
He added: “I am keen to speak to anyone who was in or around the park on Saturday who may have seen this man in the area and can provide any information about his movements.”
Anyone with information should contact PC 6781 Coupe on 101.
