A glittering ball and auction organised by parents at Sibford School has raised more than £6,400 for an Oxfordshire children’s charity.
The funds raised on May 17 went to ROSY (Respite nursing for Oxfordshire’s Sick Youngsters).
Some 200 people, including ROSY secretary George Hedges, attended the ‘Oscars’- themed ball, which was held in a marquee in the school grounds.
Auctioneer for the night was Sibford headteacher Michael Goodwin.
Items up for grabs on the night included a four-course gourmet meal for six cooked in the winner’s own home and served by a butler – donated by the evening’s caterers Thomas Franks of Hook Norton; a tour of the Mercedes AMG Petronas Factory in Brackley and tickets to the Fusion Festival in Birmingham, Cornbury Festival and the Big Feastival.
Amanda Forster-Searle, chairman of the organising committee, said: “It was a fabulous evening. The auction was amazing and I’m delighted that we were able to raise so much for such a worthwhile charity.”
