Renowned guitarist Reverend Robert from Illinois, USA, starts his UK tour at The Gate Inn, Upper Brailes, today (Thursday) at 8pm.
Joined by local musicians for the night including Barney Porter, he will be playing a mixture of early Blues, Ragtime, Hawaiian and Caribbean styles.
Robert is not a real reverend, but because he looks the part, a nickname he was given years ago has stuck with him.
Before he embarks on a tour that will take him as far north as Cumbria and as far south as Plymouth, he will also be playing solo at The Norman Knight, Whichford on Monday at 9pm. Entry to both events is free.
Reverend Robert is a master of pre-war blues.
He has delved deep into the styles of Charley Patton, Robert Johnson and other delta blues giants. He combines these styles seamlessly in a combination of infectious rhythm and an authentic acoustic sound.
Reverend is known for his true conviction and powerful delivery.
You can hear it on his latest CD Shake That Thing.
