Have you ever fancied having your own loft art studio high up in the rafters of a quirky building with fantastic views across the town?
Well now you can live that dream at Banbury’s Mill Arts Centre, which has converted its top floor into four purpose-built studios for rent.
The four spaces are lit with large windows and whitewashed walls, and will give artists space to develop their work and to integrate it into the life of the arts centre.
The Mill’s programme manager Rachel Cronin explained: “We don’t want The Mill Arts Centre to just be a place where people come to perform and show work, we also want work to be developed here.
“The room upstairs wasn’t being used and it’s just such an amazing space with a view over the whole of Canalside, it was just begging to be used for that purpose.”
The four workshops are separate spaces but located in the same room which means artists can share ideas and work communally if they wish. There is also a shared kitchen.
Ms Cronin said: “We are open to all types of artists from jewellers and painters to those working digitally.”
The studios will be available to view at The Mill’s summer party on Saturday which runs from 10am-4pm.
