The Original Rabbit Foot Spasm Band make their Banbury debut today (Thursday) at Castle House, as they headline an event organised by promoter Jake Pell.

The infamous seven-piece, whose music is based on rhythm and blues, jazz and ska, have previously strutted their stuff on stages at Glastonbury and Bestival.

Tonight’s appearance is part of a tour to promote the new album Party Seven. Supporting is ska group Stained Glass Alice.

Mr Pell said: “We’ve wanted to bring the Rabbit Foot Spasm Band to Banbury for a few years but their schedule has never allowed it – until now. They’re one of the most boisterous live acts out there with one of the most energetic shows I’ve ever seen. It’s no surprise that they’re such a big hit on the festival scene.”

Frontman Stuart Macbeth (pictured) said: “We always give a good show – loud, louche and naughty with plenty of dancing.”

Doors open at 8pm and the event runs until midnight. Tickets are £6 in advance from the venue or £9 on the door.
