Pots of help from developer

Barratt Homes West Midlands has chipped in towards kitchen equipment for a Banbury special school's new post-16 department building.

Frank Wise School received £500 from the developer, which has been spent on pots, pans, utensils, mixers and other domestic essentials, which post-16 students will use to prepare meals and develop their independent living skills.

The equipment will be available to use in the school’s new two-storey post-16 department building, the Griffiths Centre, which officially opens later in the summer and will cater for up to 24 students.

Deputy headteacher Simon Knight said: “We’re very grateful to Barratt Homes for their generous donation towards our new kitchen facilities.

“The Griffiths Centre will be instrumental in helping our students gain vital skills, including preparing meals as independently as possible.”
