Moscow City Ballet celebrates its Silver Anniversary with an eagerly anticipated return to
Aylesbury Waterside Theatre from November 4-6.
The Waterside performance marks the start of a UK tour on which the popular ballet company will perform a dramatic and entertaining programme of two classic tales.
The company will perform Romeo and Juliet and the Nutcracker – two of their most famous ballets – which showcase the fact that Russian ‘big story’ ballet combines artistry, technique, narrative and live music, thus providing a true dancing experience.
Audiences can not only marvel at the perfection of its corps de ballet but witness the excellent dexterity, grace and vitality of the principal dancers. Romeo and Juliet is a signature piece of the company’s repertoire set to Prokofiev’s dramatic score.
All the hustle and bustle of Renaissance Verona is brought to life in this powerful production following the fate of the star-crossed teenage lovers.
The Nutcracker boasts Tchaikovsky’s rich score, complete with stunning costumes and sumptuous sets.
This enchanting ballet tells the story of Clara’s magical adventure with her Nutcracker Prince, including a visit to the delicious Land of Sweets and the delightful Sugar Plum Fairy, and is a real festive treat.
Moscow City Ballet will be accompanied on tour by the Moscow City Ballet Orchestra.
