The village of Hook Norton could be set to get another 54 homes after developer Gladman announced it has opened a public consultation for a new estate off Sibford Road next to Hook Norton Primary School.

The announcement of the plans which would include homes, a play area and a square, comes as the construction of 35 homes at Station Road is getting underway and follows the approval of 75 homes at the Bourne Lane site after the Taylor Wimpey planning application was called in by the Secretary of State last year.

Villagers who raised serious concerns about the impact of the Bourne Lane and Station Road developments on the village infrastructure have vowed to fight this latest application.

Emma Kane of Hook Norton Parish Council said: “The feeling is we’ve had our fair share of houses and obviously we will oppose this latest application.”
