A 31-year-old man suffered bruising and cuts following an assault in Banbury on May 20. NNL-141006-160005001

Police have released an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with an assault in Banbury.

At about 7.15am a 31-year-old man was sat in his car at the junction of Highlands and Sussex Drive on Tuesday, May 20 when he was approached by a cyclist.

The cyclist disembarked from his bike, reached through the driver’s open window and grabbed him tightly by the throat. He then punched him in the face.

The victim sustained bruising to the throat and cuts to the upper and lower lips and was taken to the Horton Hospital in Banbury. He was discharged later the same day.

The man in the image is white, aged between 30 and 35, 5ft 9ins to 5ft 10ins in height and of a medium athletic build. He has cropped light brown hair and is wearing black jogging bottoms and a black hooded top.
