Burglars broke into a property on Queensaway and stole an iPad at the weekend.
Between 5.30pm on Friday and 6.25am on Saturday thieves gained entry to a house on Queensway, Banbury.
Once inside, they closed all the curtains and carried out an untidy search before stealing a black apple iPad.
PC Bryn Smith of Banbury police station said: “Queensway is a busy street on a Friday evening. It is likely that local residents and passing traffic would have seen the offenders not realising that they were about to or had just committed a burglary.
“I would urge local residents to come forward with any information of anyone they saw acting suspiciously at the time of this offence.
“I would also be interested if anyone has been offered a black iPad in a black leather hard case.”
Burglars also broke into a house on Park Road between 8pm and 9.50pm on Friday
Offenders gained entry to the house by forcing the front door.
Once inside they carried out a messy search of the upstairs.
Anyone with information should contact PC Smith on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
