A fearless team of staff from the Horton General Hospital are on the lookout for equally brave Banbury residents to join them in a charity abseil to raise funds for hospital causes.

The team of seven nurses and support staff from F Ward will take on a daunting 100ft-high wall at the John Radcliffe Hospital, which has been braved by many teams of hospital staff over the past ten years in challenges organised by hospital charity ORH Charitable Funds.

F Ward manager Louise Garrett said: “I am incredibly proud that seven members of the team from F Ward at the Horton General are taking part in this hospital abseil.

“Events like this raise really important additional funding that supports the different departments and wards of the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust and makes such a difference to our patients.

“We really hope that more members of the local community would like to join us in this challenge and abseil with us.”

F Ward specialises in trauma and orthopaedics. The abseil will be supporting the ward’s work, the charity’s cancer care fund and the special care baby unit at the JR hospital.

Anyone who wishes to join the challenge should be aged 18 or over, reasonably fit and prepared to raise £100 or more for their chosen hospital cause.
