Girl assaulted in Peoples Park

A 15-year-old girl was punched in the face in an assault in Peoples Park, Banbury last Tuesday (November 27).

At 6pm the victim and her friend went into the park where they were confronted by a boy and two girls.

A lengthy argument broke out between the victim and one of the girls after which she was punched in the face.

The boy and the two girls then left the park.

The victim suffered swelling and bruising to the right eye and attended the Horton General Hospital for treatment.

The offender is described as a white girl, very short in height and between 13 and 16-years-old.

She is of slim to medium build with long dark hair and was wearing a black jacket with a black hooded top underneath and a yellow scarf. She was carrying a red CEX bag on her back with the strap across her body.

Investigating officer PC Barry Duplock said: “There were several people who walked past during the argument and I urge anyone with information to get in touch.”
