Girl, 16, victim of Banbury sexual assault

At around 3.30pm on Monday June 27, the female victim, aged 16, was near Debenhams when a man approached her and started a conversation. They then left that area and walked together through the alleyway between Bridge Street and Christchurch Street.

While in the alleyway the girl was sexually assaulted by the man. Both the victim and offender then walked out of alleyway towards the bus station.

The attacker is described as white, around 20 years old with a slim to medium build, standing 5ft 8ins tall with short black hair. He was wearing a light grey jumper, light grey baggy bottoms and a snapback cap with a red peak.

Investigating officer, Detective Sargent Mike West, of Force CID, said: “I am appealing for witnesses who may have seen a man fitting the description or anyone acting suspiciously in the Banbury area around the time of the offences to come forward as soon as possible.”
