Customers at the Hare and Hounds in Wardington have raised more than £9,000 for the Alzheimer’s Society, the pub’s 2013 chosen charity. Landlady Carol Wixey and her partner James Murray organise coffee mornings, raffles and quizzes each year for a different charity in addition to the pub’s annual sponsored bike ride and beer and music festival. Ms Wixey said: “They are people that haven’t got a lot of money but they are very generous.” Last year punters raised £7,000 for MacMillan Cancer Support.
