The headline acts for this year’s Banbury Folk Festival have been announced.

Headlining the festival, which runs from October 10-12, will be John Tams and Barry Coope.

John Tams is well known as Rifleman Hagman in TV show Sharpe, in which he sings and does the musicial arrangements. He has also written songs for the London stage show Warhorse.

The pair have worked together before on a number of projects.

As this year is the 100th anniversay of the start of the First World War, John Tams and Barry Coope will be dedicating their concert to peace, in honour of the new Peace window at Banbury Town Hall.

Also performing at the festival is Belfast- born Anthony John Clarke.

Returning to the festival as the headline act on the Saturday are Something Nasty in the Woodshed.

The festival will be centred around Banbury Town Hall, where there will be extra concerts using the new function room as well as the main hall. Other events will take place at Drayton Leisure Golf Club, Banbury Folk club’s new home the Banbury Cross Inn and the Reindeer Inn. Ticket prices range from £17-£47.
