Failed burglary attempt at Banbury Co-op store

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after an attempted robbery at Queensway’s Co-op store in Mewburn Road, Banbury last Wednesday.

Between 12.40am and 1am, two offenders attempted to gain access to a rear fire door using an implement to damage the padlock. They then attempted access via a front shutter by damaging the control unit.

Finally, they attempted to gain entry by removing a front window panel, damaging the top window. No access was gained and nothing stolen.

Anyone with information that may assist with the investigation should call Banbury Local CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
