Pupils from secondary schools across Banbury were hard at work planting bulbs aplenty last year as part of a Rotary Club project to stamp out polio across the globe – and now they are reaping what they sowed.

Sibford School’s bulbs (pictured) flowered just in time for the first Crocus Concert at St Mary’s Church last Wednesday.

The next one takes place at the same venue at 7.15pm today (Thursday) with pupils from several schools taking part. The campaign supports the Rotary International’s End Polio Now Campaign with the purple flowers symbolising the purple dye used in polio immunisations.
