Commercial venture on the menu for students
Hospitality and catering students at Banbury’s Oxford and Cherwell Valley College have been running the canteen and cafeteria this month.
About 60 students are serving up drinks, snacks and hot meals to fellow students and staff as part of their course. Maxine Smith,learning manager for hospitality and tourism at Banbury, said: “The running of the canteen and cafeteria will broaden our students’ horizons and will complement their time working in the Cherwell restaurant. It will offer them a fantastic grounding in the industry.”
The canteen is open from 8.30am each day and from 8pm two nights a week for students attending evening classes.
