Katharine House Hospice is now accepting entries for its hugely popular Santa Fun Run, being held on Sunday, December 8.
The event takes place in Spiceball Park and this year will be the fourth annual run.
Previous events have raised more than £70,000 for hospice care and Nicky Hanson, community fundraiser, said: “This year we are urging even more people to come and join in the festive jollities and get their Christmas celebrations started with this fun community event. All money raised will benefit patients.
“We’ve already had a fantastic response for this year’s run.”
Radio Horton will be providing great Christmas songs to get everyone in the festive spirit. The event starts at 11am. Entrants, all wearing their Santa suits, run or walk around a 4km (2.5 mile) route or for those who would like a shorter distance there is a 1km route that is ideal for parents with pushchairs, tots and those with limited mobility. The aim is to make this a family event in which everyone can participate and enjoy themselves.
One Santa last year said: “What a spectacular sight it was – a sea of red. We were like a big Santa family, everyone chatting to each other whether we knew them or not!”
To come and join the fun you can either enter online at www.khh.org.uk or phone the fundraising office on 01295 812161. Entry is £13 for adults, £7 for children (age 6-16) or £35 for a family of four. Children under six go free. The fee covers a Santa suit, (for you to keep), bib, medal, hot drink/squash and mince pies. Participants are urged to raise minimum sponsorship of £20 (£40 per family).
Singles, families and teams are all welcome.
The deadline for entries is Friday, November 29 but the hospice is urging people to apply as soon as possible to avoid a last minute rush.
