The popular specialist food producer has set up shop, appropriately, in the centre of Chipping Norton and owners Steve and Vicky Wills are expecting their refreshments to sell like hot cakes.

The Tea Set specialises in the quintissential afternoon teas for which it has become famous but the menu at the new rooms also includes lunches and light bites.

The company took off after Vicky Wills organised a one-off vintage tea party, served in delicate bone china, for her daughter’s 18th birthday party. It now provides spreads for wedding receptions and numerous cafes and restaurants.

Its cup cakes and macarons were winners in last year’s Cotswolds Awards.

“My husband Steve came up with the apt, of-the-moment name. The Tea Set has gone from strength to strength, providing catering to customers from as far a field as Surrey, West Midlands and Wiltshire, from weddings for over 100 to intimate hen parties for eight,” said Mrs Wills.

“We officially open The Tea Set on Friday at 9am.

“We will be serving afternoon tea, coffee and cake, light bites, bubbly and anything you could ever wish for in a high street tea room,” said Mrs Wills.
