Six men appeared at Oxford Crown Court this morning (Friday) charged with a total of 23 sex offences against underage girls.

The men – all from Banbury – are accused of committing the offences on girls aged 13-15 between 2009-14 at locations around Banbury including People’s Park, Princess Diana Park, premises at Station Approach and in the back of a Vauxhall Corsa vehicle.

The men appeared at Banbury Magistrates’ Court last Thursday for a preliminary hearing.

Ahmed Hassan, 20, of Glyndebourne Gardens, Banbury is charged with eight counts of being aged 18 or over and engaging in penetrative sex with a girl aged 13-15 and one count of engaging in non-penetrative sex with a girl aged 13-15.

Takudzwa Hova, 21, of Broughton Road, Banbury is charged with one count of inciting a girl aged 13-15 to engage in sexual activity, one count of rape of a girl aged 13-15 and one count of engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a girl aged 13-15.

Kagiso Manase, 20, of Warwick Road, Banbury is charged with two counts of inciting a girl aged 13-15 to engage in sexual activity, one count of being 18 or over and engaging in non-penetrative sex with a girl aged 13-15 and two counts of engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a girl aged 13-15.

Alexandru Nae, 19, of Broome Way, Banbury is charged with one count of engaging in penetrative sex with a girl aged 13-15 and one count of rape of a girl aged 13-15.

Mohammed Saleh, 21, of Orchard Way, Banbury is charged with one count of rape and two counts of engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a girl aged 13-15.

Said Saleh, 20, of Orchard Way, Banbury is charged with one count of engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a girl aged 13-15.

The charges were brought as part of a police campaign entitled Operation Reportage by Thames Valley Police’s Kingfisher Team – set up in 2012 to tackle child sex exploitation.

The six appeared by video link from custody only to confirm their names.

The case was adjourned until September 29 when the men are expected to enter a plea.
