Staff and residents at Green Pastures nursing home in Banbury came together on Saturday as Frances Cooper celebrated her 103rd birthday in style. Frances, who has been living at the home for the past seven and a half years, was also joined by her three children and their families.
‘Mother’, as she is fondly known to the staff, enjoys her daily paper and is still able to read without the aid of glasses. She attributes her long life to clean living – no smoking or drinking. When asked why she thought she had managed to reach the age of 103, she replied: “I don’t know, I just got on with it.”
