Residents at Banbury’s Brooklands 1 and Brooklands 2 care homes are benefitting from a £320,000 government grant which has funded a series of major upgrades to facilities.

The Department for Health’s Dementia Environment Grant was added to funds raised by the Dashwood Road and Old Parr Road homes for improvements including 60 dementia furniture suites for rooms, a library with a vast music, DVD and book collection with read-aloud books and a conservatory with 400 plants.

A new jukebox has also been installed, the courtyards at both homes landscaped and light sensors installed in residents’ rooms. Pictured are Eveline Dance and Kathleen Cashman in the revamped garden area.
