Thieves smashed their way into a Banbury shop this morning (Friday) and stole a £3,000 sewing machine.
The burglary took place at GTS Sewing Machines in Mewburn Road.
Staff at the nearby Co-op store discovered the break-in at 5am and police were on the scene by 6am.
Offenders had broken in by smashing through the front door of the shop.
GTS owner Anthony Mallon said: “We received a phone call from our alarm company who said there had been a break-in and we had a £3,000 sewing machine stolen. There was also quite alot of damage with glass all over the place.
“The police were very helpful and even cleaned the glass up for us.”
