A 19-year-old man from Brackley who took money from music lovers for festival tickets he did not have has been sent to a young offenders’ institute for 15 months.

Nathaniel Gamble of Westminster Crescent advertised tickets for festival across Europe, including Park Life in Manchester. His victims paid for the tickets, but he never sent them.

Gamble was sentenced at Northampton Crown Court on July 18.

Detective Sergeant Michael Nelson, who led the investigation, said: “There were very many victims involved in thses offences from all over the country and some from abroad. There were 65 victims involved from 2013 and 20 from 2014 and there may well have been many more who did not report it.”

Gamble’s offences were initially reported to Action Fraud, the UK’s national fraud and internet crime reporting centre, before being passed onto Northamptonshire Police’s financial crime team.
